Larwood Academy Trust is made up of two schools that aim to provide a nurturing environment for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. As the trust is named after the great English bowler Harold Larwood, great emphasis is placed upon hard work, attitude to learning, being a member of a team and trying things which may be different.

The assignment: Making a difference

The trust had a mission to find a way to focus more on the matters that make a difference in day to day lives of pupils and staff. After trying a few services, they found BehaviourWatch.

How did BehaviourWatch fit in at the school?

Behaviour Watch has been a 'game changer' for our Trust. We adopted it as single school and have since rolled it out at both schools and everyone who uses it agrees-it's fantastic! Having met with Behaviour Watch staff originally to see it being personally created to our own speciation, and then seeing it in use, it really has lived up to all expectations. It's easy to use, intuitive, time saving (crucial for busy staff in schools) and serves so many purposes. The team behind it all are responsive, and it seems as though they can build anything from request to having it 'go live' very rapidly! Having used many systems previously, this is without doubt the best that I have seen and used!

The final word

In essence it’s an amazing tool to help us focus on acting on the data rather than trying to produce data we can then act upon. It has been transformative in our journey and the time saved equates to a very simple result; greater focus on the matters that make a difference to the day to day lives of our pupils and staff.
