Teaching at home? Here's 3 tools to use

The coronavirus pandemic has now forced the British Department for Education to commence national school closures. This presents a serious issue; how will the nation’s children be affected? Will there be long term implications should the closures continue into April and May? Fortunately, technology means that there are many modern methods of teaching which can challenge pupils in new interesting ways despite them being unable to visit the classroom. This article shows 3 of our favourite tools which can be used, which all happen to be free for schools and teachers.

1. Sutori

Sutori is a collaborative instructional and presentation tool for teachers. This stunning piece of software is extremely easy to use and allows you to create interactive quizzes and presentations using any file or web link. These can easily be complied into easily accessible documents and shared seamlessly.

Due to the corona outbreak they are providing free access to Sutori whilst schools are closed. Follow this link to find out more.

2. Insert Learning

Insert Learning is a chrome extension which allows users to insert instructional content to any webpage. Text can easily be differentiated for each student, and each can comment their thoughts or ask questions with annotations. To put the icing on the cake this extension is free. Follow this link to find out more.

3. Loom

Loom allows teachers to capture their screen, voice and face instantly to send as an alternative to long emails or attending inconvenient meetings. Speech and video allows more emotion to be put into a message, which is particularly important in an educational environment. Loom enables effective messages to be conveyed quickly and easily.
